IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL CAMC MEMBERS IN THE NORTHERN REGION
Northern Region AGM – October 2024
New Constitution for Endorsement
In just over 2 months the Northern Region will be holding its Annual General Meeting and this year will see the endorsement of the new Constitution which will mean that all Regions and Divisions will become known as Divisions. All ten Club Divisions will operate with the same constitution.
A Review Group (appointed by the CAMC Executive) has dedicated a lot of time to looking at ways to improve the Club’s Divisions, Regions and Centres and secure their viability for the future. Following much consultation, analysis and deliberation the recommendations have been approved by the CAMC Executive Committee. The new Constitution will align the operational and support framework of Divisions across the whole of the UK.
The affairs and activities of the Division shall be controlled and managed by a Divisional Team consisting of the following people, all working together:
Division Chair (elected)
Division Deputy Chair (elected)
Division Administrator (elected)
Division Treasurer (elected)
Division Digital Champion (elected)
Division Centre Representatives – one from each constituent Centre within the Division’s area.
Division Member Representatives – up to six to be a part of the team – approved by the Executive Committee.
Elections take place each year at the Annual General Meeting.
A special page on our website details the new Division Constitution and the changes following our forthcoming AGM along with ‘role descriptions’ for the Team’ and can be accessed here: https://northernregion.co.uk/?page_id=1129
Please contact us if you would like to be involved in the Division and represent all of the members who live within our area which covers, Cumbria, Durham, Lancashire, Northumberland and Yorkshire.

Call for volunteer members
The Divisions and Regions have their own councils, which are essentially groups of members who are interested in being part of the Club. These councils meet up to four times a year and meetings are frequently held virtually or as a hybrid meeting for those not able to travel; if you can travel, costs are reimbursed.
The Divisions and Regions get involved in many activities to support and promote the Club, such as ‘Question Time’ events that all members can attend – these give you the opportunity to come along and put questions to Club staff and members of the Executive Committee. There is plenty of opportunity to get involved – see camc.com/about-us for details.
- The Northern Region would love to hear from Club members who live in the Northern Region (Cumbria, Durham, Lancashire, Northumberland, Yorkshire) and would like to join them. If you are keen to meet fellow tourers and have an interest in being more involved with the Club please contact Jacquie Horner at northernregionsecretary1@gmail.com
