YOUR REGION AND LOCAL CENTRE NEED YOU

Did you know that the Local Centres and Region are organised and run by members of the Club, just like you and me? Without these members, who volunteer their time, the local centres and region would not exist.

It is now coming to that time of year when the centres and region each hold their own Annual General Meeting (AGM) where members are elected to form the centre officers and committee. For a centre or region to exist it must have a Chairperson, a Secretary and a Treasurer (each of these positions must held by a different member). All positions become vacant at the AGM, but members can seek re-election.

It is usual that the Chairperson serves a maximum of the 3 consecutive terms (years) in office, if re-elected each year, and then the vice-Chairperson (if there is one) is elected to move up to Chairperson.

There are 11 Local Centres in the Northern Region. These Centres organise events and rally’s throughout the year, many in places you would not normally be able to go to, and many rally’s are organised to coincide with local events, festivals and carnivals.
These Centres need your help to come forward and volunteer to form the committees needed to organise the events for us all to enjoy.

Anyone who wishes more detail about the Northern Region please contact the Secretary Mrs Sylvia Moran on northernregionsec@hotmail.co.uk. You must reside within the Northern Region area (Cumbria, Durham, Lancashire, Northumberland or Yorkshire) to be elected to office.

Chairlady’s Message

Dear Members and Visitors.

Hello and welcome to the Northern Region of the Caravan and Motorhome Club website.

A brief introduction, my name is Sandra Wright and I have been elected Chairlady of the Northern Region to which I’m honoured.

I have been a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club East Yorkshire Centre for the past 30 years, serving on their committee in various rolls from 2004 – 2013 and Chairperson 2013 – 2016

The past year has been a challenging and difficult year for us all with the Corona virus Pandemic.   With the Country going into lockdown our Club Sites closed, rallies and Celebration rallies all cancelled and our outdoor and social activities came to a temporary stop.  However by adhering to the Government Guidelines and following the Road Map Easing us out of lockdown, our lives should soon get back to some form of new normality.

The Celebration Rallies have been re scheduled; please keep checking the web sites for further information.

May I thank the Officers, Delegates and The Governance Team at Caravan and Motorhome Club who are constantly working together to ensure members are safe and well whilst on a rally.  Safety is our priority.

I’m looking forward to my 1st year as Northern Region Chairlady and meeting as many of you as possible over the next year.

The Cumbria Centre, on behalf of the Northern Region, has the pleasure of inviting all members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club to join us at Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery for the annual Question Time, there is no charge to attend.

The meeting will take place on Saturday 18th September 2021 commencing at 11.00am.This is your chance to ask questions of a panel that will represent the Caravan and Motorhome Club, Caravan Dealers, Repair Agents and anything else that is caravan and motorhome related. Tea and coffee will be provided for those attending the meeting.

After the meeting you can look around the museum based within a beautiful classical Grade 1 listed Jacobean building.  Entry also includes the Guildhall Museum, nearby, one of the 4 oldest buildings in Carlisle.  (The first 100 entries go free.)  Come and join us and enjoy your day.

Rally Information
  1. The rally will be held in Driffield Show Ground, Kelleythorpe, Driffield, YO25 9DN.
  2. The rally will run from 10.00am on Monday 23rd August 2021 and close on Tuesday 31st August 2021.
  3. The rally fee is £50.00 for 3 nights Friday to Sunday inclusive per unit and includes awning, one vehicle and all occupants up to the normal capacity of the unit.
  4. Extra nights are £10.00 per night.
  5. EHU is not available.
  6. Payment of the full rally fee is required on booking which includes a £5 non-refundable deposit. The full fee will be forfeited for cancellations after 9th August 2021. Refunds after this date will only be made at the discretion of the committee.
  7. All vans will be sited on arrival, if you wish to be sited together please arrive together. One pitch can be saved, you must arrange to meet the outfit at the entrance and escort the outfit to the saved pitch.
  8. Entry to all evening entertainment and socials in the Rix Pavilion are included in the rally fee.
  9. All East Yorkshire Centre rules apply.
  10. There will be a full programme of events throughout the rally. Please refer to the East Yorkshire Centre website, for the latest information.

The 25th Annual General Meeting of the Northern Region of the Caravan and Motorhome Club will be held at Ripon Racecourse, Boroughbridge Road, Ripon HG4 1UG

The meeting will commence at 11am.
Refreshments will be served prior to the meeting*

Notices of Motions signed by the Proposer and Seconder (including membership number) must be in the hands of the Region Secretary not less than 3 calendar months prior to the Annual General Meeting.
Nomination for Officers must be signed by the Nominee, Proposer and Seconder (including membership number) and be in the hands of the Region Secretary not less than 28 days prior to the Annual General Meeting.

This meeting is open to ALL Northern Region Members.
